Join the Staff of the Foundation for Science and Mathematics Education - make a difference for children and our community

 

We are seeking two qualified individuals to work with our educational staff, our donors and our board.

 

DIRECTOR FOR ADVANCEMENT - FOUNDATION FOR SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

The mission of the Foundation for Science & Mathematics Education, a nonprofit organization, is to foster financial and community support for the New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School (Sci High), its students, and the mission of its governing Board, the Advocates for Science and Mathematics Education, Inc.  Foundation support promotes access to high quality public education and enrichment programs for the teaching of science and mathematics for students, faculty and the community-at-large.

The Director for Advancement oversees all operations of the Foundation and reports to the President of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Science and Mathematics Education. The Director for Advancement will work closely, as well, with the school director of Sci High and with its governing Board, the Advocates for Science and Mathematics Education.

GRANT DEVELOPMENT/GRANT WRITER & COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER


Works under the direction of the Director for Advancement with minimal supervision. The Grant Development & Communications Officer plays three critical roles for the Foundation for Science and Mathematics Education: 1) serves as the primary staff member responsible for identifying current and prospective grantmaking opportunities and takes the lead in writing grant proposals; 2) works with the TEAM to create and implement the Annual Campaign to increase donor gifts and attract new donors; and 3) creates materials for and assists in implementing the public relations program including maintaining the Foundation’s web site.
